Williamsburg Animal Clinic has a variety of policies in place to ensure the safety and quality care of all patients. The main practice policies include appointment scheduling, payment procedures, patient arrival requirements, and specific surgical instructions.
Appointment Policy
- The clinic operates primarily by appointment to ensure ample time for all patients and surgical procedures, but emergency cases always receive top priority, so occasional delays may occur.
- Drop-off appointments are available, allowing clients to leave their pets for examination and receive a call when their pets are ready for pickup.
- Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are going to be more than 10 minutes late, we may have to ask you to reschedule, or perform the appointment as a drop off.
- We do require a deposit for first time clients in order to hold your appointment spot.
- We require 24 hours notice prior to cancelling your appointment. Anything after that will be considered a no call no show. After 2 no shows you will be required to leave a non refundable deposit when booking appointments.
Payment Policy
- Full payment is required at the time services are rendered, and payment can be made via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Care Credit, cash, or personal checks.
- Estimates for services are available upon request, but adjustments may occur due to unforeseen factors. Clients are responsible for any fees that go beyond the original estimate if they are not available for consent.
Patient Arrival and Safety
- All dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled in the waiting area and exam rooms. NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES ALLOWED
- All cats must be brought in appropriate carriers or on a leash.
- For the safety of all patients, if your pet is sneezing or coughing please leave them in the car until you are instructed to bring them in.
- Please do not bring pets with you that don’t have an appointment.
Surgery and Pre-Operative Care
- All surgery patients must be fasted from Midnight the night before the procedure unless otherwise instructed. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of the surgery for safety reasons. Water is ok.
- A pre-operative exam and blood testing are required to determine if a pet is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia.
- There is a surgery no-show policy; clients are required to give at least 48 hour notice to reschedule and avoid a fee.
Photography and Social Media
- Permission is requested before sharing any pet’s image or story on the clinic’s social media, website, or marketing materials. Owners may opt-out of these communications.
These policies are designed to ensure efficient service, minimize risks, and provide a safe environment for all patients and staff.
